Tartu Maraton is known as the Estonian Song Festival of Winter because of its grand proportions and international fame. It brings together thousands of skiing enthusiasts every year from all corners of the world.
Tartu Maraton is one of the oldest ski marathons in the world with its history of 60 years, first held in 1960. It is also one of the biggest ski marathons in the world.
The traditional 63 km marathon (CT) goes from Otepää to Elva, the shorter 31 km distance(CT) starts from Arula and finishes also in Elva. In 2024 the following events are included in the program: 31 km FT, Relay Race, Tartu Maratoni Vintage and races for children. It is also possible to join the virtual race format on your favourite home track.
Tartu Maraton belongs to Worldloppet and Estoloppet.
