    OFFICIAL SHUTTLE BUSES ON 17.09.2023

     

    There are special shuttle buses to the start locations and later back.

     

    Ride on the special shuttle bus is available for a fee. A seat on the bus is only guaranteed when you have bought a ticket online or from the race center latest on September 16th. 
    A bus ticket to start is also valid for the return ride, do not lose it! 

     

    Bus ticket price includes bicycle transportation. NB! Bicycles are not allowed on the buses. Bicycles will be transported separately with trucks that follow the buses! 
     

    A 1-DAY TICKET IN WEB COSTS 6 €, 10 € ON THE BUSES.

    Tickets are also available at the race expo (shopping mall Lõunakeskus) on September 16th from 10.00-19.00. 
     

    P.S. If you buy the finish parking lot ticket, the bus transfer from the finish parking lot in Elva to the start in Otepää or Palu is free of charge for all of the passengers in the car, when the parking permit is presented! Read more in the parking info.
     

    Shuttle bus schedule:

    When booking the ticket, we kindly ask you to choose the bus according to your start time and arrive a few minutes earlier as the buses leave on time. 

     

    • To the 86 km start:
      • Tartu - Otepää at 8:00
      • Elva - Otepää at 8:15

     

    • To the 40 km start:
      • Tartu - Otepää at 11:00
      • Elva - Otepää at 11:15

     

    • To the 21 km start:
      • Tartu - Palu at 8:15
      • Elva - Palu at 8:45
      • Otepää - Palu at 9:00

     

    Tartu = parking lot in front of the theatre Vanemuine (on Ülikooli Street)

    Otepää = parking lot at the Tehvandi stadium

    Elva = finish parking lot at the 2nd km of Elva-Hellenurme road

     

    • At 10:30 and 13:15, shuttle buses will go from Otepää to Elva (without transportation of bicycles).
    • After finish the shuttle buses will go to Tartu, Palu and Otepää on a free schedule according to fulfillment.
    • Rides back to Otepää/Palu/Tartu are also available for a fee (the pre-sale day ticket is valid also for the return ride).
    • The final stop in Tartu is at the parking lot next to the theatre Vanemuine on Ülikooli Street. 
  • Parking

    Parking in the parking lots of Tehvandi stadium is free. Parking in the 21 km start (Palu) and service points is free. Follow the directions of traffic officers.

     

    To park in the finish parking lots (Elva) a parking permit must be bought. Online ticket costs 6 €, when buying on site, the price is 10 €

    Tickets can be also bought from the race expo (shopping mall Lõunakeskus) on September 16th at 10-19.

     

    Parking permit includes a bus ride to the start for all passengers in the car (including bike transportation). Park your car in the finish area and have a comfortable ride to the start!

  • Getting to Tartu Maraton

    By plane: Tallinn international airport, 185 km from Tartu, is most common. Riga Airport is also usual choice for traveling to Tartu as driving here takes only 3,5 hours.
     

    By train: Several times a day between Tallinn and Tartu. See more: https://www.elron.ee/en/soiduinfo/soiduplaanid
     

    By bus: Buses form Tallinn airport leave every 30 minutes and take you to Tartu in 2,5 hours, some buses go directly to Otepää. There is bus connection between Tartu-Otepää-Elva. See more: https://www.tpilet.ee/en/
     

    By car: Race centre (bib pick up location) situates in Tartu and it is well approachable by car. In the race day there are traffic jams at the start and finish areas, so please arrive early to avoid stress. Finish area parking is paid.
     

    By ferry: You can also travel by ferry from Helsinki or Stockholm to Tallinn, and take a train or bus from there to Tartu.


    Distances:

    Distance between Tartu and start place Otepää is 42 km, between Tartu and finish area Elva is 25 km. On the race day there are special shuttle buses from Tartu and the finish parking lot in Elva to the start locations in Otepää and Palu, and later back to Tartu and start locations.
