On Saturday, September 20, it’s time to start at Tartu Rattamaraton. Here you’ll find the essential information to make the marathon day run smoothly. We wish you a great experience!
  • BIB hand out

    Bib hand-out:

    • On Friday, September 19 from 10:00 to 20:00 at the race center (shopping mall Lõunakeskus, Ringtee 75, Tartu).
    • On Saturday, September 20 at the start locations in Otepää and Palu, check the times in the program.

     

    Please check your race number in the participants’ list beforehand.

     

    In addition, the race center offers marathon souvenirs and plenty of great deals on sports goods.

     

    Re-registration (alteration of the participant’s name or the race distance): 

    • on Club Tartu Maraton’s website www.tartumaraton.ee until 17:00 on 19.09.2025.
    • in the race centre on 19.09. from 10:00 till 17:00.
    • There will be no re-registration on the day of the race. 
    • Re-registration costs 10 € + difference of the participation fees of distances.
    • In case of a lost / left behind start number, replacement fee is 10 €.
  • Start times and groups

    Start times have changed – check the program for your exact time!

     

    All distances will start in waves, and you can choose your group according to your expected finish time. You do not need to inform the organizers about your choice, and the decision about which group to join can even be made on the marathon morning.

     

    The exception is the elite groups in the 126 km (numbers 1–300) and 86 km (numbers 501–650) distances, where start numbers have been assigned according to the elite regulations.

    Due to roadworks on Palupera Road in Otepää, cars are strongly advised not to use road no. 71 (Rõngu–Hellenurme–Otepää) when coming to Otepää. Read more and see the detour options HERE

     

  • Parking and shuttle buses

    New parking arrangements in the Elva finish area:

    • Parking services are provided by EuroPark, price €7 / 72 h (plus mobile operator service fee). The parking fee must be paid before entering the parking lot or immediately at the start of parking.
    • Short stops (up to 10 minutes) are free of charge.

     

    Parking at the start locations and service stations is free. For Subaru owners, parking at the finish areas also remains free of charge.

     

    NB! Due to the new parking system, it is no longer possible to purchase the former combined ticket (parking + bus ride to the start).

     

    Due to changes in start times, bus departure times have been adjusted.

  • Fixing the strart number, time keeping

    Timing is electronic. The chip is attached to the back of the number and does not need to be returned.

     

    The shape or size of the race number must not be altered (for example by cutting, bending, or folding the edges). The race number must be attached to the handlebar in a vertical position and clearly visible from the front. It will be checked upon entering the start corridor, and in case of incorrect placement, participants will be asked to reattach the number on the spot. Any violation detected after the start will automatically result in a 10-minute time penalty.

  • Technical support, service on the cource

    At the start and service points, technical assistance is available from Hawaii Express if needed. Be sure to bring your own spare tube and pump to the course. Spare wheels are not provided at the service points.

     

    On the 126 km course, there are seven service and refreshment stations; on the 86 km course, six; on the 40 km course, three; and on the 21 km course, one. In addition, all distances feature one lemonade “energy boost” point.

     

    At some service points, sports drinks are also available in Enervit 500 ml bottles while supplies last. Bring two full bottles from home – if an exchange is not possible, please use a cup or refill your own bottle.

     

    Respect nature and dispose of your waste only in the marked litter zones!

  • Awarding (incl age groups)

    The winner of Tartu Rattamaraton will be determined in the 126 km distance. There are two intermediate sprints on the course (Matu and Palu), where the best man and woman of the 126 km race will be awarded.

     

    Awards at Tartu Rattamaraton:

    • 126 km: Top 6 men and women
    • 86 km: Top 3 men and women
    • 40 km: Top 3 boys and girls (born in 2009 or later)
    • 21 km: Top 3 boys and girls (born in 2013 or later)

     

    Age group winners will be awarded in the 126 km distance, except for M60+ and W50+, who will be awarded in the 86 km distance.

     

    The award ceremony times can be found in the program.

  • Luggage, changing areas, finish catering, saunas

    Bring your own weatherproof bag – the organizer does not provide bags. Attach the baggage sticker (found in your start envelope) to the bag and leave it in the designated truck (at Tehvandi Stadium before the start corridors, or in the parking area at the 21 km start). At the finish, the bags are sorted by the last number of the start bib. 

     

    Changing: at Tehvandi in the stadium building and waxing house (no separate tents); at the 21 km start in a large tent or your own car; in Elva separate changing tents for men and women are available.

     

    Catering with medal or start number. Reusable dishes are used in the finish cafeteria and service points – please return them after use.

     

    Don’t forget to pack a towel and flip-flops – the sauna area will be open at the finish for relaxation and washing!

  • Diplomas and pins

    Printing of diplomas takes place at the finish area, on the first floor of Tartumaa Tervisespordikeskus.

     

    You will also be able to pick up your gold and silver pins from there, also purchase the merch.

  • Medical aid

    Medical service at Tehvandi is located at the parking area behind the main tribune building. In Palu the medical aid is available at the race office tent. 

     

    In case of medical emergency on the track, call 112 or contact the medical crew at the next service station.

     

    If you cancel the race (also for non-medical reason) inform the medical crew in the closest service station.

  • Additional services (GPS, Enervit, medal engraving)

    Sportrec GPS device allows real-time tracking on the course. Order via your marathon account under "Offers" or rent it latest on Friday September 19 at the race center (15 EUR). Return it at the finish.

  • Kids races on Sunday 21.09

    Kids races will take place on Sunday, September 21 in Tartu Tähtvere Sports Park

     

    First start is given at 11:00, the distances vary between 400m and 5 km. Every young cyclist crossing the finish line will receive a prestigious medal and a tasty treat.

     

    Online registration will close on September 21 at 9:00. Race numbers can only be collected from Tähtvere Sports Park on Sunday morning!

  • Social ride on Sunday 21.09

    On Sunday morning, 21 September, we welcome everyone to join a relaxed social ride – the perfect way to spin out tired legs and clear the head after the marathon.
     

    The ride starts at 11:00 from the Aparaaditehas parking lot and takes about 1.5 hours on nearby asphalt and gravel roads. After the ride, we’ll enjoy a snack or coffee together in the Aparaaditehas courtyard.

  • Spectators with special needs

    In Tehvandi Sport Centre, the start venue of Tartu Maraton, the stadium and hotel complex are built according to the contemporary requirements, including also the needs of people with special needs.
     

    The tribune, the ground floor of the stadium building and the caffee are accessible in a wheelchair. It is also easy to move between the inva parking lot and stadium. There is a special inva toilet in the stadium building.
     

    To enter the hotel, one can use the ramp, there is an elevator and special rooms for disabled people in the hotel.
     

    In the finish area in Tartu County Recreational Sports Centre there is free entrance to the ground floor hotel rooms in a wheelchair, in the hall there is also a special inva toilet. The walking distance from the parking lot to the finish line is also accessible in a wheelchair.
     

    The service points on the track are all located outside larger settlements. In all of the service points there are large parking lots available. However, we suggest to use assistance while moving between the parking lot and the course line in a wheelcahir, as the roads there are running on the fields and forests.
