Attention! What does “MEDAL BY POST” mean in the registration form?

01.10.2024

Starting from Monday, September 30, it is possible to register for the marathon and half marathon under the condition that participants will receive their medal by post after the event, not at the finish line on-site.

Finisher medal in 2024

Why is this?

Due to higher than expected registration numbers, the current amount of medals is insufficient for the additional participants.

However, the organizers will order more medals to ensure that everyone who wishes to participate can do it. Since the additional medals will arrive after the Tartu City Marathon has taken place, they will be sent to participants’ home addresses after the event.

How will the organizers at the finish line know who gets a medal on site and who will receive it later?

Participants who register for the marathon and half marathon distances starting from October 30, will receive specially designed race numbers, which will help the medal distributors distinguish them.

How is timing and ranking in the results handled?

All runners will have regular timing and will be included in the overall results.

Is there enough medals for the 10 km distance?

As of Monday morning, there are still about a hundred spots available for the 10 km distance. If these fill up, the organizers will decide whether to open a “medal by post” option for this distance, similar to the marathon and half marathon, or not.
