Confirmed! Tartu Maraton will take place in Alutaguse

11.02.2025

The location of the 51. Tartu Maraton has been officially confirmed today. The race will take place on February 15th-16th at Alutaguse Sports Center, as the necessary snow cover is available there, unlike on the original course.

The race will be held on a 20 km loop, which participants in the shorter distance will complete once, while those in the longer distance will complete twice. The full marathon distance is 40 km. The 20 km classic and freestyle races, as well as the vintage and relay race, will take place on Saturday.  40 km classic race will be held on Sunday. Children's races will be organized on Saturday in both Tartu, at Tähtvere Sports Park, and in Alutaguse.

"There is some joy that the snow in Alutaguse has held up well and that the Tartu Maraton can take place, but of course, there is also some regret that we cannot use our usual courses and distances, which skiers eagerly wait and love," commented the race director Indrek Kelk. "Whether this format suits for Tartu Maraton or not, is something each participant will have to decide themselves," he added.
