COURSE VIDEO: Tartu Rattaralli 135 km

19.05.2026

This year, the Tartu Rattaralli course heads north from Tartu. On the open landscapes of Vooremaa and the Lake Peipus region, the wind will play its part, while the area’s characteristic hilly sections will add extra excitement.

The difficulty of the first third of the course will largely depend on the direction and strength of the wind, as well as the hilly sections at Lähte and Vasula. The first service point awaits cyclists in front of Maarja-Magdaleena School and Kindergarten. Shortly after that, the course turns right from Kudina — the northernmost village on the route — and heads east towards Lake Peipus.

After crossing the Jõhvi–Valga–Tartu road, the landscape changes as riders reach the forest sections around Pedassaare and Sõõru, which may offer some shelter from the wind.

After the second service point in Kokora, the course continues towards Alatskivi, where the roads are again mostly exposed to the wind. This section also includes Alatskivi’s Kalevipoeg’s Bed, which means a fast descent for cyclists — followed, of course, by a hill.

By this point, more than half of the distance has been covered. Hopefully, you have used your energy wisely and still have enough strength left to enjoy the more demanding section ahead. From Alatskivi, the course leads onto forest roads next to the Padakõrve Nature Reserve, followed by the Selgise hills and the uphill section through Välgi village.

After that, the course profile becomes easier, but riders still need to stay alert: at Kaitsemets, the route makes a 90-degree left turn towards Vara. The third service point is located in Vara, followed by a technically easier but wind-exposed section through Aovere to the service point in Luunja.

After the final service point, Tartu is already within sight. All that remains is to ride through the Ihaste district, cross Sõpruse Bridge, turn onto Turu Street — and the finish line of the 45th Tartu Rattaralli will be waiting.
