The winner of the 29th Tartu Rattamaraton, Belgian cyclist Lukas Malezsewski, was crowned the overall winner of the UCI Gravelking World Series after 40 races around the world. His victory was particularly impressive, as an injury sustained at the beginning of the season kept him out of competition for nearly three months. He gradually regained his form and rose to the top of the overall standings in September. His victory at the Tartu Rattamaraton played a decisive role in helping him take the overall lead. During the final race weekend of the season in Sweden, Malezsewski managed to consolidate his advantage and secure the overall title.

At the UCI Gravel World Championships held in Nannup, Australia, Denmark’s Magnus Bak Klaris claimed victory. The finish was so close that the winner had to be determined by a photo finish. However, Bak Klaris finished fifth in the overall series standings. The cyclist also competed in Estonia this year, taking part in the Tour of Estonia with his team.

Tiffany Cromwell, winner of the women’s race at the Tartu Rattamaraton also competed at the UCI Gravel World Championships finishing eighth. The event was especially meaningful for the Australian rider, as it was her final race as a professional cyclist, held in front of her home crowd.

Former Estonian elite cyclist Allan Oras competed at the World Championships as well, finishing fourth in his age category. “Everything came together, and I gave it my all. The course was beautifully challenging,” Allan wrote in a social media post.

The milestone 30th Tartu Rattamaraton will take place on 18 September 2027.
