What to expect from this year's Tartu Forest Marathon?

25.03.2025

Our popular running event, taking place on May 10–11, brings several important changes that every running enthusiast should know about.

Tartu Forest Marathon (Adam Illingworth)

  1. Main distances (5K, 10K, 21K, and 42K) are now held on Saturday! This gives more time to enjoy after-the-race atmosphere and recover before the workweek begins.

  2. A cozy sauna area at the finish line! All participants can relax and unwind after their race. Plus, the start and finish area will offer various activities for both adults and kids.

  3. Scenic spring trails in pure nature! The routes pass through the stunning valley of the Elva River, ancient forests, and the rolling landscapes of Southern Estonia—an absolute treat after the long winter. The start and finish are conveniently located in one place, under the pine trees of Tartumaa Tervisespordikeskus.

  4. Join the 21K hiking group! For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, the 21K hiking group offers a chance to complete a half marathon in about 3.5 hours at a steady, enjoyable rhythm.

  5. Sunday is all about family! Kids races and Charity Run will take place in Tartu, giving families and friends a chance to enjoy an active day in the spring nature.
