  • 1. General info

    1.1. Relay Race is organized by Club Tartu Maraton according to current Regulations and decisions made by the Board of Club Tartu Maraton.

     

    1.2. The goal of this competition is to offer citizen skiers a new sportive teamwork challenge.

     

    1.3. Due to force majeure the organizer could be forced to change or shorten the course, or cancel the race. The Organizing Committee will make the final decision at least on Monday before the competition, which will be forwarded to mass media. In exceptional circumstances the Jury has a right to make changes concerning the race until 3 hours before the start (FIS Article 388.1.3) to secure safety of the participants.

     

    1.4. Other unforeseen cases will be solved by the Organizing Committee.

  • 2. Start place and time

    2.1. Relay Race takes place on Saturday, February 15th 2025 together with the 51st Tartu Maraton 31 km FT event: Arula - Palu - Hellenurme - Elva.

     

    2.2. The Competition starts at 10:30 as a mass start at Arula Crossroads. The start timing mat is not located at the startline. The first leg skiers must enter the start corridor from the designated gate and cross the timing mat. Only in this case the start of the team will be registered. Otherwise the team will be regarded as not started.
    The Finish is open from 11:30 till 17:00 at the Tartumaa Tervisespordikeskus (Tartu County Recreational Sports Centre).

  • 3. Registration and re-registration

    3.1. Registration takes place:

    • on Tartu Maraton website tartumaraton.ee up to 13.02.2025 at 17:00;
    • in Club Tartu Maraton office in Tartu, Laulupeo Ave 25 (ph +327 421644) up to 13.02.2025 at 17:00.
    • Previous results of the team will be taken into consideration in assigning start numbers (not guaranteeing the same start numbers) only during registration up to 30.01.2025. 
    • The entry must be made for the whole team at once. The team members and stages can be changed online in the self-service environment up to 13.02.2025 at 17:00 free of charge.


    ​3.2. Last changes within the team can be made in the start area before the start until 10:15. No re-registrations after the start! Participants must start under their own name. 

     

    3.3. With making the entry, the participant confirms the willingness to abide by the current Race Regulations and gives the permission to use the shot photo and video material for the promotion of the event.


    3.4. With making the entry, the participant confirms the willingness to abide by the Privacy Policy.

     

  • 4. Entry fees

    4.1. Entry fee per team:

    Date 3 team members = 31 km
    up to 30.01.2025 121 € bibs with team name or logo
    up to 30.01.2025 101 € bibs without team name or logo
    31.01.-13.02.2025 121 € bibs without team name or logo

     

    • Ordering bibs with team name or logo is possible in case of registration up to 30.01.2025.
    • The logo must be uploaded during the registration (files in size less than 1 MB, acceptable formats pdf, cdr, eps, ai).
    • In case of giving up the right of participation, the entry fee shall not be refunded.
    • The re-registration (changing of the participants or stage runners) is possible in the self-service free of charge until 13.02.25 at 17:00 and is free of charge. Last changes within the team can be made in the start area until 10:15 free of charge.


    ​4.2. The start fee includes: starting bibs for team members; time keeping service (only in case of correctly attached time keeping chip during the whole race); results; service and catering in the service stations and finish; diploma with the team name and result; luggage transport from start to finish; medical service (if necessary); transport of abandoned skiers.

  • 5. Participation rules

    5.1. Free and classic techniques are permitted.

     

    5.2. The team consists of 3 participants, each completing one stage of the 3 competition stages:

    1st leg:  Arula – Palu 14 km 
    2nd leg:  Palu – Hellenurme 6,9 km 
    3rd leg: Hellenurme – Elva 9,5 km
     

    ​5.3. The team entries by stages must be made during the registration, changes are possible online in the self-service environment or by sending an e-mail to tartumaraton@tartumaraton.ee up to 13.02.2025 at 17.00 at the latest. Last changes within the team can be made in the start area until 10:15. After the start, changes of the team members or in the racing order are not allowed. Violation of this rule leads to disqualification.

     

    5.4. Participation is on your own responsibility. It is advisable to have an accident and/or health insurance. Organizers are not liable for participants’ health problems or damaged/lost personal belongings.

  • 6. Organization in start / finish and on the course

    6.1. There are 3 service points (SP) on the 31 km course: 1. Peebu 7 km, 2. Palu 14,6 km, 3. Hellenurme 21,5 km.


    6.2. Waste areas. 
    There will be marked waste areas on the race course before and after every service point and at other specially signed section. Please dispose your waste (drink bottles, gel tubes etc.) next to the course, do not throw it to the forest or road ditch, where it is hard to find for cleaning crew after the event. It is prohibited to litter outside of waste areas! Organizers and commissaries have the right to disqualify or fine the violators. Disqualification can also be based on photo or video recordings.

  • 7. Time limits

    7.1. 7. Time limits:

    • Finish is open until 17:00
    • Not passing the service points before the time limit leads to disqualification. These skiers will be taken to the finish area by bus.
  • 8. Handout of start materials

    8.1. The handout of start materials takes place:

    • At the race office on 14.02.25 at 12:00-19:00 (Lõunakeskus atrium, address Lääneringtee 39, Tartu);
    • on the race day 15.02.25 at 8:30-10:00 (start location at Arula crossroads).
  • 9. Transportation and traffic restrictions

    9.1. Osavõtjate transport.

    Logistikat stardist teatevahetusaladesse korraldajad ei taga! Võistluspäeva hommikul saab Tartust ja Elva finišiparklast stardipaika Arulasse korraldajate tellitud bussidega. Pärast maratoni saab eribussidega sõita finišipaigast tagasi Tartusse. Sõit eribussiga on tasuline, päevapileti hind on eelmüügis 6 €, kohapeal 10€. Bussipileteid saab osta eelmüügist Klubi Tartu Maraton veebipoest. Busside sõidugraafikud avaldatakse kaks nädalat enne üritust klubi kodulehel.


    9.2. Parkimine stardiparklates on tasuta. Parklatesse suunatakse autod vastavalt liikluskorraldusele ja täituvusele. Finišiparkla Elva – Hellenurme maantee 2. km-l on tasuline. Eelmüügist ostes 6 €, kohapeal 10 €. Bussidele, milles on enam kui 10 reisijakohta, on parkimine tasuta.

  • 10. Time keeping and results

    10.1. Time keeping is performed with an electronic timing chip. To get a result, your 2025-year race bib must be visible from your front and back during the entire race and the time keeping chip must be attached properly to your ankle. Each team member has their own time keeping chip and it must be returned to race organizer after the race. Unreturned timing chips will result in a penalty of 49 €. 

     

    10.2. Each team gets a GPS device, which counts as a baton. During the exchange only the GPS device must be passed on to the next skier.

  • 11. Award ceremony

    11.1. The 3 best teams shall be awarded at 12:30 on the finish area podium. There is only one general racing class. The team which is not present in the official award ceremony loses one’s right to an award.

  • 12. Cancellation of the event

    12.1. If the event is cancelled due to a force majeure the participation fees shall be refunded in accordance with the current regulations and rights of the organiser which state that the organiser may deduce the sum used for already made arrangements.


    12.2. In case of cancelling Tartu Relay Marathon due to lack of snow or another force majeure with an announcement of the cancellation 72 hours beforehand, 50% of participation fees will be transferred to next year’s event’s registration fee (season 2024).

     

    12.2.1. If the participant does not wish to use the transfer possibilities mentioned under p.12.2. and wishes to be refunded the 50% of the participation fee, he/she is obliged to present Club Tartu Maraton with a proper application in within 1 month after the cancelled event’s date. This must be done by post (Laulupeo pst. 25, 51007 Tartu) or by e-mail (tartumaraton@tartumaraton.ee).


    12.2.2. All private persons whose 50% of participation fees will be transferred to the next year’s Tartu Relay Marathon are obliged to confirm their registration and pay the rest of the participation fee by the end of the first deadline of registration. After the named date no more payments or complaints will be accepted or satisfied.


    12.2.3. Participation fees paid by legal entities (enterprises, clubs, etc.) are only to be transferred to next events in the Tartu Maraton Klassik series. This means that they cannot be refunded. People who were registered to Tartu Maraton by a given enterprise will not be automatically transferred. The 50% of fees paid will be transferred to the user account of the representative of the given legal entity. The representative of the enterprise is obliged to renew the registration list (make a new group registration to the event of their choice) and use the credit within 1 year. After one year it is no longer possible to use the credit and no later complaints will be satisfied.

     

    12.3. A force majeure is considered to be any unpredictable event that the organiser has no control over. The organiser cannot change its time or way of occurrence, control it or stop it from happening (e.g. war, rebellion, strike, fire, flood, earthquake, (snow)storm, insufficient snow, downpour or any other act of nature, pandemic or other state restrictions etc.)


    12.4. If the event is cancelled due to a force majeure no expenditures made to third parties by the participants are to be compensated by the organisers of Tartu Maraton. We advise participants from abroad to purchase a travel insurance that would cover the expenses caused by the cancellation of the event.


    12.5. If the parties cannot find an agreement the discords shall be solved in accordance with the Estonian laws in the Tartu county court.
