Since 2022 Tartu Rattaralli 126 km distance has been the qualifier event for the UCI Gran Fondo World Series. The calendar unites 25-30 competitions worldwide each year. Cyclists compete in age groups, and the top performers receive a series medal and the green light to the end-of-season Gran Fondo World Championships.
In Tartu Rattaralli 2024:
Cyclists aged 19 and older can challenge themselves in the series.
Gran Fondo riders start in the start group according to their age. The gates of the start groups are marked with a sign that corresponds with the colour of the participant's race number. Start times can be found in the program.
Top three men and women in each age group are awarded in the podium with a trophy and a series medal. In addition, first place winners will receive a Gran Fondo stage winner's shirt.
All riders who finish in the first 25% of their age group (of the number of starters) will be rewarded with the series medal and will be eligible to compete in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships at the end of the season, taking place on 28.08-1.09 in Aalborg, Denmark.
Medals can be collected on race center after the finish. The invitations to the championships will be sent separately by the series organizers.
In 2023, 1108 riders of Tartu Rattarlli participated in the Gran Fondo ranking, with 282 of them earning a ticket to the championships.
